A hermitage built near the historic site of Baía da Vitória, around 1623. It was built in honour of the people of Graciosa for their victory over the pirates who tried to land at Porto Afonso and plunder the island. It is a single-nave hermitage, situated in the middle of a walled churchyard, in a field next to the road. The festivities of Nossa Senhora da Vitória were one of Graciosa’s biggest pilgrimages – on the Tuesday of the Holy Spirit, nobody worked and families arrived from all over the island on foot, by donkey or in ox carts.
