Also known as the Mother Church of Praia da Vitória, it is considered one of the most beautiful religious monuments on Terceira Island. It was founded in 1456 by Jácome de Bruges and is the largest religious temple in the municipality, having been classified as a Property of Public Interest since 11th June 1980. Of particular interest are the portico of the main façade and the two Manueline style side portals from the 16th century, given by King Sebastião in 1577, as well as the gothic rosacea.
