The Salto do Prego is a waterfall with cold, crystal clear water, surrounded by luxuriant vegetation. It is located in the parish of Faial da Terra, municipality of Povoação. To access it, you need to take the PRC09SMI – Sanguinho or PR11SMI – Ribeira do Faial da Terra walking trails.Its adjacent walls feature a variety of moss carpets, as well as the exuberant forest of Japanese cedars (Cryptomeria japonica) and australian cheesewood (Pittosporum undulatum) that surround it. The presence of small wooden bridges over streams that flow into the main river makes access more challenging.
