The Centro de Interpretação Ambiental da Caldeira Velha aims to promote the natural heritage of Caldeira Velha, classified as a Natural Monument. Its main purpose is to promote the environmental values of the area, offering an educational and tourist experience about the volcanic origin of the islands, with a main focus on the Vulcão do Fogo.There is an exhibition providing information on biodiversity, geodiversity and thermalism, highlighting the geosites of Ribeira Grande, particularly those in the Caldeira Velha Natural Monument area. The centre, integrated into the natural landscape, also allows visitors to enjoy the local thermal swimming pools.
